Title: Medicine Making in the Garden
Date: Saturday, October 19th
Time: 11am - 1pm
Investment: $111
Join clinical herbalist, Nasya Camacho, at Rising Iris Farm for an afternoon exploring plant magic for seasonal support through the Fall. Medicine making as a collective has been a simple + sweet, yet deeply healing practice for centuries, bringing humans + plants back into reciprocity and connection with each other.
Using medicinal plants + kitchen medicine, we’ll create two herbal preparations for the colder months:
𖦹 Fire Cider — a spicy tonic traditionally used as an immune booster, digestive aid, and cold/flu remedy during the winter months
𖦹 Herbal Respiratory salve — using herbs for lung support that are known for aiding breathing, chest congestion and supporting cold/flu symptoms
There will be tea to ground us into the energy of the season, as we learn about the benefits of the herbs we work with and share stories of traditional folk medicine, on a cozy October morning.
There will be plenty of herbs + spices to taste, smell, touch. Each person will go home with a jar of fire cider, a medicinal salve and a growing relationship with the wisdom of plants.
